The decline in my GPA made me realize that my journey to becoming a doctor is not always going to be easy. It made me hunger to go to medical school even more, to overcome the academic and emotional hurdles, and has made every little accomplishment even sweeter.

In elementary school, I desired to become a teacher and a pastor, in sixth grade I needed to become a painter like Picasso, but when seventh grade came along all that changed. I watched. I was nervous and excited at the same time. This was a question that was running in the back of my head and got me a little sick on Monday morning, while driving to Lincoln.
